The Inn at West Settlement Wedding
Amanda and Tobey are very low key. So low key in fact that they almost just wanted to elope and forgo having a big wedding. But in the end I’m sure they’re happy they didn’t elope because their wedding was an awesome celebration with their friends and family, not to mention great food and music in a bucolic setting nestled in the Catskills.
Their wedding was at The Inn at West Settlement in Roxbury, NY. I had never shot there before but it had long been on my radar as a place I would love to photograph. And it didn’t disappoint. I go to Roxbury at least once a year to go snowboarding at Plattekill Mountain, but I have never been there without lots of snow on the ground. Well let me tell you, it’s just as beautiful in the spring and summer as it is in the winter.
The Inn at West Settlement was a perfect location for their Catskills wedding because they’re both very into hiking and the outdoors. As an affirmation to their love of nature, they took most of the guests on a hike in the morning before their wedding. There was a threat of rain in the afternoon, but the weather held out for a sunny outdoor ceremony and the evening was crisp and cool. The party went on into the night with music by the Round House Rockers. During the party they also had a bonfire under the night sky. Overall it was a perfect day at The Inn at West Settlement Wedding.
