Sarah and Brian’s Eagle’s Nest Wedding Reception

Sarah and Brian’s Eagle’s Nest Wedding Reception was awesome. They actually got married in Maine a few days before their Eagle’s Nest Wedding reception but wanted to have a party back in NY for everyone who couldn’t make it up to Maine. Apparently it rained at the wedding ceremony in Maine and then it rained at their wedding reception in New York. Since rain on your wedding day is good luck, these two have really good luck! Fortunately the reception was all indoors and Eagle’s Nest knows how to throw a great party. Below are a few photos I took of the newlyweds outside on the lawn before the rain. How cute are these two?

Hudson Valley Product Photography

If you missed my previous post about Hudson Valley product photography of Kiss My Face cosmetics then check that out for some more photos and information. I also recently photographed their entire suncare line, which is pretty awesome since it’s all natural. It took me a little while, but I finally worked out the kinks with my lighting style and technique so I think these photos came out great. It’s a fairly elaborate lighting setup but it makes the products really look appealing. Don’t you agree?

Hudson Valley Product Photographer – Natural Cosmetics Photography

As a Hudson Valley product photographer I’ve been lucky enough lately to be doing some Hudson Valley product photography for Kiss My Face. In case you don’t know, Kiss My Face is a natural cosmetics company located in Gardiner, NY. I’m thrilled to have them as a client because I believe in their philosophy and they happen make great products. If you care about what you put onto your body and into the environment then check them out. You can find their products in health food stores and through their website. Below are a couple of photos from my first shoot with them. This is their olive oil soap, which is great. I chose to shoot it on a wood surface to emphasize the natural qualities of it. Next is one of their gift baskets available through their website. I photographed a number of these and had a fun time styling them. Industrial Product Photography – an exercise in patience

Industrial Photographer in New York

I recently completed an industrial product photography shoot for Signal Transformer. What I thought would be a simple shoot turned out to be more difficult than I expected. It was a group photo of the various transformers that they make for trade show display. They turned out to be much smaller than I imagined so it required quite a bit of patience with the styling, composition and lighting. I used one of my macro lenses and these parts are smaller than you pinky nail, so you can imagine the toil that went into the shoot. In the end I came up with an image that both I and the client were happy with. I guess all my experience as a food photographer is coming in handy in other applications. Who knew that I would one day be doing side work as an industrial photographer. Below is the final result. Let me know what you think.

Casey Maternity Shoot

My wife slipped Casey my business card when they had her shower at work. She decided that she wanted some maternity pictures done so she gave me a call. We decided on Vanberbilt Mansion in Hyde Park since she lives in Poughkeepsie. There are countless places to shoot there so we had a great time walking around the property. Casey told me that she thought the photos were great and she would have a hard time choosing which ones to print. I think that’s a good problem to have. Below are a few of my favorites.

Dhebora the Belly Dancer

Dhebora’s mother is a belly dancer so she wanted to do a bellydance themed shoot. She had never modeled before but I had the lights set up in advance so once she got there we were ready to go. She also came with her friend who’s a make up artist so that helped. Overall it was a great first shoot.
