New Paltz Farm Wedding

Meghan and Mike’s New Paltz Farm Wedding was awesome in every way. Meghan is a hair stylist and heard of me through a mutual friend. I have to admit, I was pretty excited to shoot a professional hair stylists wedding because I knew it would be gorgeous. And this wedding was no disappointment. I started the day at her salon for some photos of the girls getting ready. Then I went to see what the groom was up to. After that is was off to the farm for the day.

The wedding was at the family farm in Gardiner NY and it was epic. All the styling was done by Meghan and it was perfect. The ceremony was in the middle of the field with a spectacular view of the Shawangunk Ridge (the Gunks) on the horizon.

We took a tractor with a hay trailer further out in the field for photos after the ceremony. After that we did portraits around the farm in front of the silo and even in the hay loft. Yes, that’s right, the bride climbed a ladder in her wedding dress to get up to the hay loft for photos. Awesome!

The reception was in a tent next to the ceremony site. The food was amazing! I think it was the first time I had venison at a wedding reception and I think it was right up there with best food I ever had at a wedding!

They did a lantern release to honor Mike’s late father. Back in the tent the dancing continued everyone had a great time. Overall it was a perfect New Paltz Farm Wedding.
