Onteora Mountain House Wedding

Onteora Mountain House Wedding

Onteora Mountain House is easily one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Catskills. And Beth and Ari’s Catskills wedding was amazing. It was an unseasonably warm day at the end of May but the sun was shining and love was in the air.

Boston Wedding

Noah & Katie’s Boston Wedding

Noah and Katie’s Boston Wedding was simply unforgettable. Noah was a student employee of mine back when I worked as the Staff Photographer at The Culinary Institute of America and he was a Bachelors candidate. Well, he went on to earn his MBA at Northeastern in Boston MA, which is great because that’s where he met Katie! With Noah’s attention to detail, and Katie’s too, I knew from the very beginning that this would be an amazing wedding. And it was!

We started at the Renaissance Boston at Patriot Place for some getting ready shots and a first look. From there it was off to St. Agatha’s Church in Milton Ma for the ceremony. From there we visited the Arnold Arboretum which is part of Harvard University in Boston for some formal bridal party shots. Then back to the Renaissance for the reception. It was a whirlwind day for sure and I have to give big props to my assistant Jayna (who, coincidentally was a student employee of mine at SUNY New Paltz). Talk about coming full circle.I love working with students realizing that they’re going to eventually become full fledged professionals. Way to make me proud you guys!

After about ten hours I tapped out and enjoyed the whiskey bar. And I even got the leave with a home brewed Saison the Noah and Katie brewed as a wedding favor (it was delicious). Did I mention that Noah is a CIA grad? Haha. Best of luck to you two and thank you so much for having me as a part of your wedding day!

ElmRock Inn Spring Wedding

Megan & Bryan’s ElmRock Inn Spring Wedding

Megan & Bryan work in theater so they decided to have their ElmRock Inn spring wedding on a Monday so that their friends could come! I have to admit, it was the first Monday wedding that I’ve ever photographed. And is was great. I’ve found that awesome couples have awesome friends and that leads to awesome weddings!

In addition to having ElmRock Inn’s very own Harvest Real Food Catering and Chef Brian taking care of the food they also had Danielle from Every Little Detail Event Planning on board. Having such a solid team means that they had nothing at all to worry about other than having a great time with their families and friends! Here’s a link to the planners post about the wedding.

DJ Bri Swatek took care of music for the ceremony and of course the reception and everyone had a great time dancing the night away. At the end of the reception there was a bonfire complete with marshmallows for everyone to enjoy on a brisk spring night.

Venue: ElmRock Inn

Photographer: Keith Ferris Photo

Florist: Floral Fantasies

Caterer: Harvest Real Food Catering

Music: DJ Bri Swatek

Cupcakes: Hudson Valley Dessert Company

Rentals: Rhinebeck Rentals

Locust Grove Poughkeepsie Wedding

Locust Grove Poughkeepsie Wedding

Justin And Jessica’s Locust Grove Poughkeepsie Wedding was an amazing day. Locust Grove is the historic Hudson River estate of Samuel F. B. Morse and a National Historic Landmark. They picked Locust Grove as their wedding venue since it’s somewhere they go often with their dogs. It’s also an amazingly beautiful place with magnificent gardens and landscaping. We did an engagement shoot at Locust Grove so I got to see how connected they are to the site.

Their ceremony was in the lawn and officiated by Rev. Stu from Hudson Valley Ceremonies. It’s a beautiful spot and the light was coming through the trees in just the right way.

After the ceremony we did group photos and portraits in the lawn and garden. One thing about the landscape of Locust Grove is that there are endless possibilities for backgrounds and lighting.

The catering was by Tomas Tapas Bar in Wappingers Falls NY and was fantastic. There were small bites and tapas throughout the evening so nobody was left hungry.

DJ Jimmy Lutz of Lutz Entertainment did a great job keeping the party moving and everyone had a great time dancing all night long.

Jessica & Justin had a perfect wedding at Locust Grove.

ElmRock Inn Wedding

atie & Tom’s ElmRock Inn Wedding

Katie & Tom’s ElmRock Inn Wedding was awesome. They live in Long Island but have a love for the mountains and climbing so ElmRock Inn in Stone Ridge NY was a perfect location for their upstate wedding. I got to know them before the wedding and discovered that they’re a pretty awesome couple. We even did an engagement shoot at Mohonk Preserve with some climbing themed photos.

The day of the wedding was a little rough because of the threat of storms but that didn’t stop them from having an awesome time. First I did some photos of them getting ready and Katie getting her hair done by Brigette from Signature Braids. Then we did a first look and group photos before the ceremony in the yard. The ceremony was on the porch since it was covered and that’s where they tied the knot. Literally. They tied a knot in a climbing rope. I thought that was an awesome touch.

The cocktail hour and reception were perfect. The food by Harvest Real Food Catering was fantastic as always. It was a little cold out but DJ Bri Swatek got things moving on the dancefloor.

To end the evening there was a bonfire complete with marshmallows and buckets of beer. All told, Katie and Tom had an awesome ElmRock Inn wedding weekend.

Long Island City Wedding

Stefan & Annie’s Long Island City Wedding

Stefan & Annie’s Long Island City Wedding was awesome. The ceremony and reception were at the Metropolitan Building in LIC. I have been both the photographer and a guest at numerous weddings in Long Island City but I had never been to the Metropolitan Building before. LIC, which is in Queens NY is right across the water from Manhattan and there’s lots of really cool old industrial spaces for weddings . And it’s still in NYC. It’s also a popular neighborhood for photo shoots and the Metropolitan Building is set up for this and often used for high fashion photography. But back to the wedding. I’ve known the groom since college and I got to know the bride during an engagement shoot a few months before the wedding. I feel that it’s important to get to know the bride and groom before the wedding since it makes everyone more comfortable on the wedding day. I met up with the bride for getting ready shots while my assistant met up with the groom in another part of town. We had acquired permits to take photos at park across from Manhattan but due to the threat of thunderstorms we decided to scrap that plan and do photos at the Metropolitan Building instead. And it’s a good idea that we did. Just before the ceremony the sky got dark and there was torrential rain. It made the ceremony feel very cozy and intimate. The venue was perfect for portraits of large and small groups. There’s tons of textures for the background and lots of natural light coming through the windows. I had my lighting set up but I used just a reflector for most of the photos. The officiant was a friend of the bride and groom so the ceremony was very personal. There was great food and lots of dancing. Overall it was amazing Long Island City Wedding.
