New Paltz Farm Wedding

Meghan and Mike’s New Paltz Farm Wedding was awesome in every way. Meghan is a hair stylist and heard of me through a mutual friend. I have to admit, I was pretty excited to shoot a professional hair stylists wedding because I knew it would be gorgeous. And this wedding was no disappointment. I started the day at her salon for some photos of the girls getting ready. Then I went to see what the groom was up to. After that is was off to the farm for the day.

The wedding was at the family farm in Gardiner NY and it was epic. All the styling was done by Meghan and it was perfect. The ceremony was in the middle of the field with a spectacular view of the Shawangunk Ridge (the Gunks) on the horizon.

We took a tractor with a hay trailer further out in the field for photos after the ceremony. After that we did portraits around the farm in front of the silo and even in the hay loft. Yes, that’s right, the bride climbed a ladder in her wedding dress to get up to the hay loft for photos. Awesome!

The reception was in a tent next to the ceremony site. The food was amazing! I think it was the first time I had venison at a wedding reception and I think it was right up there with best food I ever had at a wedding!

They did a lantern release to honor Mike’s late father. Back in the tent the dancing continued everyone had a great time. Overall it was a perfect New Paltz Farm Wedding.

Full Moon Resort Wedding

Joanna and Isaac’s Full Moon Resort wedding was a perfect wedding day in the Catskills. Full Moon Resort is located in Big Indian NY, deep in the heart of the Catskills. Surrounded by mountain peaks and nestled right next to the Esopus Creek, this resort offers some beautiful backdrops. It’s a great place for a Hudson Valley wedding close to NYC. The day started with a surprise appearance by a little black bear who was munching on some apples that had fallen from a tree. The uninvited guest was shooed away and didn’t make another appearance. After that bit of excitement was over, we started on the formal portraits by photographing the girls and guys separately. I could tell by everyone’s energy that it was going to be an amazing day. The threat of rain prevented them from having the ceremony in the lower grove but what they may have missed in terms of scenery they more than made up for with their heartfelt vows. The reception was a great dance party with the John Bates Band rocking the party late into the night. It was a great day and one that anyone who attended will not soon forget.

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa Wedding

Charis and Bill’s Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa wedding was a great time for everyone. Charis found me online via my Wedding Wire page since she was planning her Hudson Valley NY wedding all the way from Colorado. We hit it off and they decided to have me as their photographer. I think it’s really important to hire a photographer that you get along with since they’re going to be spending your entire wedding day with you! Anyway, I digress. Fast forward to July, and I finally had a chance to meet them a couple of days before the wedding. We took a walk around Buttermilk Inn & Spa so I could see what their vision was, and I could tell it was going to be a great day. And it was.

They did a first look once she was in her dress. We did family photos before the ceremony so they could enjoy more of the party after the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and right in front of the pond at Buttemilk Falls Inn & Spa. I took portraits in a few locations around the property and got them back to the party. The reception was excellent and the staff at Buttermilk Inn & Spa did a fantastic job. The DJ Lou Paris or Paris Creative did a great job of getting people moving and maintaining the pace of the party. Charis and Bill are a great couple and I wish them years of happiness ahead. Patriot Hills Wedding Photos – Mickey & Kristen

Mickey & Kristen’s Patriot Hills Wedding Photos

Mickey and Kristen’s Patriot Hills Wedding photos definitely capture how fun their wedding was. I met them both when Mickey hired me to photograph his fiancé who is a competitive CrossFit athlete. It turned out that they were engaged and they enjoyed working with me so I became their wedding photographer. In addition to the fitness shoot we also did an engagement session by the Hudson River waterfront in New Windsor in the middle of the winter. This was a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and we also got some awesome photos from it. We made a custom guest book with the photos and they also displayed them around their cocktail hours. I always love seeing my photos put to good use!

Their wedding at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills in Rockland County was fantastic. They had a huge wedding party and everyone had a great time. They’re both awesome people and they definitely surround themselves with other awesome people so the party was off the hook. The sounds by Jimmy Dee Entertainment kept the party going strong all night long. Mohonk Wedding

A Picture Perfect Mohonk Wedding

May and Terrence has a storybook Mohonk Wedding at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. They live in the NYC but they chose to have a Mohonk wedding because it’s a the perfect Hudson Valley wedding venue. The weather was perfect and the gardens were in full bloom in late August. Mohonk’s garden theme this year was “crayons” so it was a veritable palette of color. I always love shooting in the garden at Mohonk because it’s always different and always unique.

Their first look in the garden was a nice way for them to get to see each other before the wedding and also a really nice photo op. May’s gown was stunning and the flowers by Flowers By Elissa were gorgeous and added just the right touch. If you ever need wedding flowers check her out!

The ceremony in the garden was officiated by a family friend. The bride entered in a horse drawn carriage entrance really set the tone. After the ceremony we did family photos in the garden as well as portraits of the newlyweds. The garden is always a focal point at a Mohonk Wedding and this was no exception.

The reception featured music by the Gerard Carelli Orchestra and the sound was amazing, which came as no surprise since the bride is a musician herself. The music was great and everyone had a wonderful time dancing. Overall it was a storybook Mohonk wedding. But don’t take my word for it. Check out the photos below and let me know what you think.

Tralee Farm Wedding – Adrianne & Austin

Tralee Farm Wedding

Adrianne & Austin’s Tralee Farm wedding was a day to remember. It was perfect in so many ways. The ceremony was a St. Joseph Church in New Paltz, NY and the reception was at the barn at Tralee Farm in Stone Ridge, NY. The bridal party was large and I had fun mixing up the poses for the group photos. Adrianne & Austin are so much in love that you can see it in the photos. I had met them for an engagement shoot in the spring and to check out Tralee Farm so we were very comfortable with each other and on the day of the wedding it was super fun and relaxed. Overall it was an awesome day and I captured some great images for them to treasure and remember their Tralee Farm Wedding day.
