Amy & Patrick’s Mohonk Garden Wedding

Amy & Patrick’s Mohonk Garden Wedding was awesome. It was a perfect late September day in the Hudson Valley, and a great day for a wedding. Their first look was on the cliffs overlooking Lake Mohonk, which is also a great place for portraits.

After their first look and some portraits they took a row boat ride around Lake Mohonk. They’re both very into nature and Mohonk is a perfect location for a nature lovers wedding. Their ceremony in the garden was beautiful albeit a bit sunny. There were an amazing amount of monarch butterflies feeding in the gardens, which the bride later explained to me, are of particular significance to her. It was a magical time.

After cocktail hour on the porch overlooking the lake the wedding moved down to the Picnic Lodge for dinner and dancing and even a bonfire. Overall it was a perfect day for a great couple.

ElmRock Inn Spring Wedding

Megan & Bryan’s ElmRock Inn Spring Wedding

Megan & Bryan work in theater so they decided to have their ElmRock Inn spring wedding on a Monday so that their friends could come! I have to admit, it was the first Monday wedding that I’ve ever photographed. And is was great. I’ve found that awesome couples have awesome friends and that leads to awesome weddings!

In addition to having ElmRock Inn’s very own Harvest Real Food Catering and Chef Brian taking care of the food they also had Danielle from Every Little Detail Event Planning on board. Having such a solid team means that they had nothing at all to worry about other than having a great time with their families and friends! Here’s a link to the planners post about the wedding.

DJ Bri Swatek took care of music for the ceremony and of course the reception and everyone had a great time dancing the night away. At the end of the reception there was a bonfire complete with marshmallows for everyone to enjoy on a brisk spring night.

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa Wedding

Charis and Bill’s Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa wedding was a great time for everyone. Charis found me online via my Wedding Wire page since she was planning her Hudson Valley NY wedding all the way from Colorado. We hit it off and they decided to have me as their photographer. I think it’s really important to hire a photographer that you get along with since they’re going to be spending your entire wedding day with you! Anyway, I digress. Fast forward to July, and I finally had a chance to meet them a couple of days before the wedding. We took a walk around Buttermilk Inn & Spa so I could see what their vision was, and I could tell it was going to be a great day. And it was.

They did a first look once she was in her dress. We did family photos before the ceremony so they could enjoy more of the party after the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and right in front of the pond at Buttemilk Falls Inn & Spa. I took portraits in a few locations around the property and got them back to the party. The reception was excellent and the staff at Buttermilk Inn & Spa did a fantastic job. The DJ Lou Paris or Paris Creative did a great job of getting people moving and maintaining the pace of the party. Charis and Bill are a great couple and I wish them years of happiness ahead.
