Steve & Lindsey’s Stone Ridge Wedding

Steve and Lindsey’s upstate spring wedding at The Inn at Stone Ridge in ended up being the perfect day. Lindsey was six months pregnant for the wedding and she looked amazing in her dress. The weather was fantastic for the middle of April so the kids all had a blast running around the property. But the most important factor was that Steve and Lindsey are awesome. They were both really easy going and the day went perfectly and everyone there, including the photographer, had a great time.

Natural Suncare Cosmetics Photography

If you missed my previous post about Kiss My Face then check that out for some more photos and information. I also recently photographed their entire suncare line, which is pretty awesome since it’s all natural. It took me a little while, but I finally worked out the kinks with my lighting style and technique so I think these photos came out great. It’s a fairly elaborate lighting setup but it makes the products really look appealing. Don’t you agree?

Natural Cosmetics Photography

I’ve been lucky enough lately to be doing some shooting for Kiss My Face. In case you don’t know, Kiss My Face is a natural cosmetics company located in Gardiner, NY. I’m thrilled to have them as a client because I believe in their philosophy and they happen make great products. If you care about what you put onto your body and into the environment then check them out. You can find their products in health food stores and through their website. Industrial Product Photography – an exercise in patience

I recently completed a shoot for Signal Transformer. What I thought would be a simple shoot turned out to be more difficult than I expected. It was a group photo of the various transformers that they make for trade show display. They turned out to be much smaller than I imagined so it required quite a bit of patience with the styling, composition and lighting, but in the end I came up with an image that both I and the client were happy with. I guess all my experience as a food photographer is coming in handy in other applications. Below is the final result. Let me know what you think.

Jazz Artist Moose Alexander

Moose is a jazz singer who contacted me about setting up a shoot for his press kit. I love working with artists because they understand collaboration and the creative process. Prior to the shoot we discussed our objectives and got a good idea of the look we both wanted. He was mastering his newest work at the time so I didn’t hear his music going into it but he’s a very easy person to get along with so the shoot unfolded very naturally and we got some great photos. We decided on 5×7 postcards which I had printed for him and they turned out magnificent. Head over to moosealexander.com to hear his sound.

Melissa & Doni’s Beacon Wedding

I’ve known Melissa since college where we graduated from the same photography program. It’s always a great compliment to me when another artist or photographer asks me to shoot their wedding. It’s also a great responsibility and makes me a little nervous, but I like to use it as a challenge to make fantastic images. They live in Brooklyn but I had met Doni a couple of times before and I knew that he was a really easy going and down to earth guy. Melissa contacted me in the spring about her fall wedding. No problem, plenty of time to plan a wedding. One caveat; she was planning on hiking the entire Appalachian Trail with her dad and would be off the grid all summer. Despite logging some serious miles in the months prior to her wedding Melissa and Doni managed to throw a terrific party with plenty of hand made touches at Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, NY. Bridge Creek Catering did a fantastic job with the setup, the food and the service. Overall it was a great wedding and I’m happy to have shared this special day with one wonderful couple.

Kolt Family Portraits

Melissa contacted me a couple of months ago to schedule a family shoot in the peak of fall at an apple orchard. I met her and her husband and their two boys at Terhune Orchard in Salt Point NY and we enjoyed the sunny crisp morning walking around the orchard. Sam and Alex are as sweet as can be and it was not difficult at all to make them look adorable on camera. Below are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Stephanie & Jon’s Mohonk Wedding

Stephanie and Jon’s wedding at Mohonk was picture perfect. It was a bright sunny day and a beautiful day to be at Mohonk. Stephanie went to school at New Paltz so tying the knot at Mohonk Mountain House was a no brainer. Here’s some of my favorite photos from that day.

Alissa & Mike’s Mohonk Wedding

Alissa and Mike contacted me about their intimate wedding at Mohonk and I was hooked. Rather then have everyone they know come to the wedding they decided that they would just have close family for a weekend at Mohonk Mountain House and then have a big reception party in their hometown in Pennsylvania. They chose Mohonk because of their love of nature and the outdoors. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding, perfect in every way.

Kate’s Fitness Shoot

Kate contacted me about modeling for stock to help build her fitness modeling portfolio. She’s new to modeling but not new to fitness. She was a college athlete and still works out regularly. We shot a few different concepts and got a ton of great shots. I look forward to working with her again in the future.
